Cooked Generator

Cooked Generator     I then drove to Grove to show the finished car to the team that had done the bodywork and the paint job and then on to RPS where we worked through a quick list of things. The last item on the list was a quick run through setting up the timing with Andy, when we had finished, the ignition light refused to go out and the ammeter was showing no charge. No obvious reason could be found and on closer examination we could see lots of melted solder on the inside of the generator housing – the generator had cooked itself. So, after a lift to Oxford it was a train back to London instead of driving back and a wait to see if the generator can be repaired in time for the trip to Italy.
