Second Monit – Whilst at RPS the car was fitted with a a second Monit Rally Computer (TC100) the second one is in front of the driver and will be a backup to the TC200 in front of the navigator. It is just about visible behind the spoke of the steering wheel. Both Monit’s now have increased accuracy with a tab on the back of each wheel bolt – this means that the Monit sensors now sense five of the metal tabs for each revolution of the wheel. These extra tabs gave some interesting readings on the trip back to London – at one point, according to the TC200 I was travelling at 324kph ! I did a rough recalibration from the GPS so that they were reading about right, no point in doing it properly as we will need to calibrate them in miles for the Flying Scotsman Rally.
